If you experience any technical issues with your equipment, the following information is designed to help you arrange a repair or replacement as quickly as possible, regardless of whether your device is currently under warranty or requires out-of-warranty support.

Limited Warranty

Warranty Policy and Coverage

Rugged Limited (formerly FB Peripherals) warrants to the original owner that our products will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under intended use and maintenance. This warranty is valid for one year from the date of manufacture (unless otherwise stated) and 90 days for OEM products.

Warranty Resolutions

If a product is found to be defective in materials or workmanship, Rugged Limited will, at its sole discretion:

  • Repair the product at no charge using new or refurbished replacement parts.

  • Exchange the product for a new unit.

  • Refund the original purchase price of the product.

Any replacement unit provided will be covered for the remaining balance of the original warranty period.

Exclusions from Warranty Coverage

This warranty is strictly limited to manufacturing defects and does not cover damage resulting from improper care, environmental factors, or user error. Specific exclusions include:

  • Misuse and Abuse: Damage caused by accidents, alteration, abuse, unauthorized disassembly, or use inconsistent with the product’s intended design and purpose.

  • Environmental & Wear: Normal wear and tear, the natural breakdown of materials over time, abrasion, and damage from prolonged UV exposure.

  • Technical & Electrical: Damage caused by connection to incompatible products, use outside of specified electrical ratings, or improper installation and removal.

  • Unauthorised Service: Any damage resulting from service, repairs, or modifications performed by anyone other than an authorized service provider without prior consent.

  • Identification: Any product where the serial number has been defaced, modified, or removed.

  • Maintenance: Damage caused by improper cleaning, washing, or drying, or the failure to follow specific product instructions and warnings.

  • Post-Purchase Changes: Any hardware upgrades performed after the original date of purchase.

Warranty Service

To obtain service under this warranty, the eligible product must be presented to Rugged Limited (formerly FB Peripherals) at our UK facility.

Shipping and Responsibilities

In the event of a warranty claim, the owner is responsible for all costs associated with securely transporting and returning the product to our service center. We recommend using a tracked and insured courier service to ensure safe arrival.

Out-of-Warranty or Ineligible Items

In instances where a returned product is deemed ineligible for warranty coverage (due to the exclusions listed above), Rugged Limited will assess the unit for repairability. If a repair is possible:

  • We will provide a quote for the repair at a reasonable charge.

  • This charge will include the cost of parts, labor, return postage, and handling.

Irreparable Products

If a returned product is deemed irreparable by our technical team, it will become the property of Rugged Limited for safe, compliant disposal and will not be returned to the customer.

Expert In-House Technical Support

From time to time, specialized hardware requires professional servicing or repair. Our highly experienced in-house service center provides first-class technical support to all our customers. Every member of our technical team has received direct training from our manufacturers, ensuring that your equipment is handled by experts with deep product knowledge.

How to Arrange a Repair

To ensure a smooth and efficient repair process, please follow our standard procedure:

  • Step 1: Obtain an RMA Number – In the first instance, please contact us to discuss the issue and receive a Return Merchandise Authorisation (RMA) number.

  • Step 2: Ship to our UK Centre – Once you have a valid RMA number, you will need to send the product(s) to the Rugged Limited repair center in the UK.

  • Step 3: Assessment and Quote – If repair is possible, we will assess any non-warranty damage and provide a repair quote at a fair and competitive rate.

Important Maintenance Note

To protect the health and safety of our technicians and ensure a thorough inspection, we kindly ask that all products are thoroughly cleaned before being sent to us for repair.

Limitation of Remedies and Liability

In the event that a court of competent jurisdiction finds a breach of the limited warranty set forth above, the sole obligation of Rugged Limited (formerly FB Peripherals) will be to, at its discretion, either repair or replace the product.

Should these remedies fail to achieve their essential purpose, Rugged Limited will, upon the return of the hardware, refund the original purchase price to the owner. This constitutes the sole and exclusive remedy available to the owner against Rugged Limited.

Rugged Limited shall not be held liable for any incidental or consequential damages resulting from any other cause or reason. This exclusion applies across all legal theories under which damages may be sought. Please note that as some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, these specific limitations may not apply to every customer.

Furthermore, all shipping charges incurred when sending a defective product to the Rugged Limited service centre remain the responsibility of the owner and are not covered under this warranty.
